The sound you heard Thursday was the collective air being knocked out of sports executives, athletes, fans and more so doctors and nurses who are burned out from the third, fourth and now the fifth wave of COVID-19.
Fans were locked out of a major sports event again for the first time in months as Quebec health requested the Montreal Canadiens close the doors with a reported historic high daily case rate of COVID.
That was 24 hours after Ontario announced crowds would be dropped back to 50 per cent of capacity.
And again we’re asking when will it be normal again, without the restrictions, the masks, the mandates and the setbacks.
The thing throughout the pandemic is once it starts, it appears the dominoes start to fall.
It’s an empty feeling of now just waiting for the next shoe to drop, for the next setback.
But I’ll promise you one thing that we’ve done on the Green Zone throughout the pandemic. We’ll try our best to give you the latest news but also give you the distraction that sports provide us during this unprecedented two years.
