10:00 – The House of Commons finance committee has rejected a cabinet bid to allocate $7.2B towards new pandemic relief spending, saying too much has already been spent too quickly, and without proper auditing. According to Blacklock’s Reporter, deficit spending from the outbreak of the pandemic has totaled $508.9 billion, and federal officials knew that many of the loans given out were so hurried and haphazard that they don’t expect the taxpayer funds used to be recovered, and many of the programs did not include proper controls to prevent “major errors.” Blacklock’s Managing Editor Tom Korski joins Gormley with the details.

11:15/30 – Have you ever hurt yourself in a really stupid way? Producer Taylor is limping around the office after injuring his toe trying to kick a huge chunk of ice out from underneath his car. He says if he’d stopped and used his head for two seconds, he would have realized that an ice block that’s hanging up a Honda is too solid to kick away, but instead of using his head he’s now got a swollen toe and a nail that’s slowly turning black. Let’s make Taylor feel a bit better by sharing some of the stupid ways we’ve injured ourselves over the years, and the (usually obvious) lessons we learned as a result! Call 1-877-332-8255 and tell us about the time you hurt yourself doing something dumb.
12:00 – Dr. Monique Mayer, a veterinary radiation oncologist at the U of S, has resurrected a German textbook from 1918 on the anatomy of dogs, after she found the research has not been replicated in any other publications. Mayer used Dr. Hermann Baum’s textbook ‘The Lymphatic System of the Dog’ in her own work, but needed to rely on translation by her mother, who’s fluent in German. Now, after using the book for about 15 years, Mayer has set up a full translation of the text to help other researchers use the 103-year-old data, and she joins Gormley to tell us more.
