9:00 – Hour of the big stories
10:00 – Roughriders QB Cody Fajardo has been given a rough ride on social media by fans of the Green and White. At a media conference Monday, Fajardo got choked up while explaining that being the team’s starting QB is “everything” to him, saying he gives it his all and can’t understand why people are so unkind, especially on social media. Fajardo says he loves to interact with his fans online, but despite his efforts to stay positive, the endless criticism from armchair quarterbacks is extremely toxic. What do you think of Fajardo’s comments? Should he expect criticism because his job puts him front and centre in the public eye, or does the treatment of our QB online amount to hateful bullying? Is there anything that can be done to improve the situation, or is social media just a breeding ground for mental health issues? Call 1-877-332-8255 and let us know.
11:00 – The possibility of allowing alcohol consumption in parks will be examined today at the City of Saskatoon’s community services meeting. Many other jurisdictions in Canada have moved to allow drinking in parks, but should cities in Saskatchewan follow their example, or would this create a minefield of issues and ruin the image of our shared public spaces? Call 1-877-332-8255 and let us know if you think the province should change the liquor law and allow for alcoholic beverages in public parks?
12:00 – Five people were recently inducted into Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame for 2021 and one recipient is Dr. Don Buckingham. The Saskatchewan farm boy has earned the moniker of the “father of agricultural law in Canada.” Dr. Buckingham joins Gormley to tell us about his career and his induction into the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame.
