The Green and White game has never been so important for the players, coaches and managers for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The annual event that is usually meant more as a fan engagement event is much more than that for 2021.
With no pre-season games, this is the only as close as it gets game action these players will have to impress enough to make the team.
Coach Dickenson wants to move to a more regular season practice schedule next week to give starters much more reps to gel for week one so Saturday’s game could be it for any player on the bubble.
So expect a much more intense controlled scrimmage for the Riders and even a hit or two that may be close to crossing the line of hitting a teammate in practice.
But Saturday will still be a great day for the fans in the stands. There will be the clock running. Refs blowing whistles and penalties as we close in, closer and closer to kickoff of the most anticipated CFL season in quite sometime.
