8:30 – With calls from both inside and outside Canada growing, are we ready to reopen our borders? The Federal government has previously said they will not reopen the border until at least 75% of Canadians are fully vaccinated, but Trudeau declined to repeat that benchmark Thursday, saying the government would act based on expert recommendations and said Canadians can expect more details next week. An Angus Reid survey found 69% of Canadians think we should wait to reopen until three quarters of our population gets their second dose, despite 72% of those surveyed saying the worst health risks from COVID are behind us. Whenever public opinion is divided, we put the question to you in one of Gormley’s patented Reality Checks: Is Canada ready to reopen the border? Call 1-877-332-8255 and add your voice to our poll!
