The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Monday they have signed two of their 2021 CFL draft picks.
Defensive lineman Alain Cimankinda was selected in the fourth round (35th overall). The 6-foot-1, 245-pounder out of Ottawa played three seasons with the University of Guelph Gryphons, recording 81 tackles, 27 tackles for losses, 22.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 30 games.
He was named a second-team OUA all-star in 2019 after registering 36 tackles, 13 tackles for losses, 11 sacks and one forced fumble.
Offensive lineman Logan Bandy was Saskatchewan’s fifth-round selection (38th overall). The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder played in 23 games over four seasons with the University of Calgary Dinos and was named a Canada West all-star at left tackle in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Bandy, who hails from Calgary, was named a U Sports second-team All-Canadian in 2019 and was invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl. The annual U.S. college football all-star game was cancelled due to COVID-19.
