Bring on the playoffs!
Everyone we’ve talked to on the Green Zone who covers the National Hockey League has said the same thing. In the last few weeks of the season, without the playoff races, it looked like the players were getting bored with each other.
The playoffs will add a new spark to these division rivalries and while the Toronto-Montreal series should be a ratings boon, it’ll be nice to see some fresh matchups with more attention to games down south.
The series I’ll be watching for sure is Vegas against Minnesota as the last time these teams played, there was plenty of spice. Washington taking on Boston or Pittsburgh against the Islanders in the East Division are both incredible matchups.
Oh, and expect the rats to hit the ice when the Florida Panthers take on Tampa in the first-ever Battle of Florida in the playoffs.
I’m still taking my pre-season Stanley Cup pick of Colorado to reign supreme.
