The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another face to their linebacker group.
The CFL team announced Monday it has signed 26-year-old Nigel Harris to a contract.
Harris comes to the CFL after spending three years in the NFL, originally signing with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 as an undrafted free agent.
During his rookie season, he played eight games split between the Chargers, New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played three more NFL games with the Tennessee Titans in 2018 and 2019.
Harris spent four years as a member of the University of South Florida Bulls. The Gainesville product played in 47 games for the Bulls, recording 232 total tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, six sacks, three interceptions, five pass deflections, eight forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
Linebacker is a position where competition will be fierce for a starting spot in Saskatchewan. No starter from the 2019 team is still with the team.
Derrick Moncrief is with the Los Angeles Rams, Solomon Elimimian announced his retirement this off-season and Cam Judge signed with the Toronto Argonauts.
