NASCAR got dirty on Monday.
Bristol Motor Speedway turned into an old-school dirt track and I loved it!
Dust flying, cars bumpin’ and bouncin’, dodging potholes. It was great.
It reminds us that you can make something old new again and make it work.
What else could we bring back from the past?
There are a few things in hockey I’d love to see. First and foremost, bring back that rule where a two-minute minor is a two-minute penalty no matter if the team on the power play scores.
Also, what would the game look like with no blue line? The game used to be played on a fresh sheet of ice. No more defenders lining up at the blue line to slow down the offence. You could cherry-pick if you wanted. Give it a try!
No three-point line in basketball? That would drastically change the way the game is played now.
And here we are, with the CFL pondering whether playing with a U.S. team is the wave of the future.
Although as much as old ideas can be made new again, there is something to be said by learning from past mistakes.
