Saskatoon police had to use a stun gun twice in about four hours Saturday night.
The first incident happened at about 6:30 p.m.
Officers were called to the 2200 block of 22nd St. W, near the intersection with Ave. V.
They allege that a 19-year-old woman was carrying a handgun there.
Police said in a release that she wouldn’t listen to officers, so they used a stun gun. It didn’t work, but they eventually managed to make the arrest.
The woman is facing charges of weapon possession and assaulting an officer.
At about 10:30 p.m., officers were called to a home on the 100 block of 25th St. W, just off Idylwyld Dr.
There, they found a 29-year-old man who was threatening to hurt himself with a knife.
Officers tried to calm him down, but he wouldn’t drop the knife. They used a stun gun, then took him to hospital.
