Smith says the pending closure of the pipeline should come as a reality check for Ottawa, as Canada has allowed politicians to “become dangerously disconnected from reality.” Smith joins Gormley to discuss the importance of Line 5 and why Eastern Canada still treats energy as a Western issue.

10:00 – Vanessa Tynes-Jass was just 17 when she met the first man who trafficked her in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She eventually escaped three years later. She is now a lawyer in Halifax and operates the charity Survivors Unleashed International, which provides education funding to victims of trafficking. Tynes-Jass joins Gormley to share her story and what she is doing to help other victims.
