WINNIPEG — Ryan Poehling scored the game winner Saturday as the Laval Rocket downed the Manitoba Moose 2-1.
Lukas Vejdemo also scored for Laval (5-2-1), beating Moose goalie Arturs Silovs 7:18 into the first period.
Tyler Graovac responded for Manitoba (4-4-0) with just two minutes left in the game.
Silovs stopped 23-of-25 shots on Saturday, and Laval netminder Charlie Lindgren made 16 saves.
It was the Rocket’s second straight win over the Moose after Laval topped Manitoba 4-3 on Friday. The Rocket are first in the American Hockey League’s Canadian Division with 11 points.
The Moose will face the Marlies in Toronto on Monday, and the Rocket are set to visit the Bellville Senators in Ottawa on March 8.
