Harness racing set to resume at Woodbine Mohawk Park as COVID restrictions eased

Harness racing is set to resume next week at Woodbine Mohawk Park after the Ontario government announced the loosening of COVID-19 restrictions in Halton Region.

Woodbine Entertainment said in a release that live racing will resume next Thursday.

Halton, where the Milton-based Woodbine Mohawk Park is located, is one of the regions moving into the “red control” zone on Tuesday.

Spectators are not permitted at the facility, and only essential personnel will be permitted onsite.

Live horse racing, without spectators, is permitted in all phases of the province’s current COVID-19 response framework except for “grey lockdown” zones, meaning Toronto’s Woodbine Racetrack is not yet permitted to resume thoroughbred horse racing.
