Two teenaged boys — one 15 years old, the other 18 — have been charged with attempted murder in connection with an incident in the Riversdale neighbourhood Tuesday night.
In a media release, the Saskatoon Police Service said members of the Serious Assault Unit began an investigation after a woman said she was attacked with a machete.
On Tuesday, patrol officers went to a home in the 500 block of Avenue H South at about 10 p.m., after getting a call about an injured person.
The caller said a woman had arrived at their house asking for help. She reported being assaulted by two males with a machete in a back alley near Avenue H South and 18th Street West.
At the house, officers found a 23-year-old woman suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital by Medavie Health Services.
About an hour later, officers located three suspects in a house in the 300 block of Avenue H South. Officers also found a machete.
Three males — ages 15, 16 and 18 — were charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. The attempted murder charges against the 15-year-old and the 18-year-old were announced Thursday morning.
Police believe the assault was random in nature.
