Is there going to be a CFL this year?
It has been the No. 1 question from CFL fans since March of last year. It still is.
And when Scott Milanovich resigns as head coach in Edmonton, you start to wonder if he knows something we don’t. But there are plenty of people who would be in the know who are after that job.
Also, look at the signing bonuses being handed out. Millions of dollars of guaranteed money have already changed hands going into 2021. Are we to believe a cash-strapped league that was looking for a handout from the federal government would be advising teams to spend millions of dollars on players who may not play this season?
I can’t believe owners would just flush money away like that if they aren’t 99 per cent certain they’re getting those players to fulfil their contracts on the field this year.
So yes, I’m very optimistic about a season, because money talks.
And I would say the money being spent in the CFL is screaming a return to play is coming in the CFL.
