Saskatoon police say a pair of violent attacks in the downtown core Thursday afternoon were connected.
Police were called to 21st Street and Second Avenue at about 5:40 p.m., for a report of three men fighting in the street with metal pipes.
A 31-year-old man was located by officers suffering from serious injuries.
The victim was rushed to hospital where his condition was upgraded to stable.
About an hour later, police were called back to the area. In the 100 block of Second Avenue South, they found an injured 20-year-old man who had been hit with a machete.
Investigators have determined the incidents are related but did not know if the victims knew their attackers.
There is no suspect description at this time.
