It’s about to get a bit blustery in many areas of Saskatchewan.
Wind warnings have been issued throughout the northwest, excluding Lloydminster, all the way across to the Manitoba border.
The advisory covers the cities of Regina, Saskatoon, Humboldt, Martensville, Warman, Melfort, Prince Albert, North Battleford and Yorkton.
The strong winds have the potential to cause damage, coming from the northwest and gusting to 90 kilometres per hour.
The winds are expected to develop overnight and move eastward into Manitoba by Wednesday morning.
“Winds are expected to taper off from the northwest by Wednesday afternoon and should diminish by Wednesday overnight,” an Environment Canada alert reads.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
Environment Canada meteorologist Terri Lang says even though the blustery winds aren’t as bad as last Wednesday’s storm, they can still cause some havoc.
“There may be some things that will have loosened up, like branches, shingles and that type of thing,” Lang said. “If you get another big gust coming along, there could be more damage done.
“With the fresh snow that the province has been getting, these types of winds are likely to cause some issues on the highways too.”
