Conditions on Saskatchewan’s highways were better Tuesday morning than they were Monday night, but there still are problem areas.
According to the Highway Hotline, travel wasn’t recommended in the Outlook/Lucky Lake area due to icy, snow-packed sections on roads.
Highway 219 from the junction of Highway 15 to Strathcona Road, and Highway 45 from the junction with Highway 15 to Delisle were under a similar advisory.
Travel also wasn’t recommended in the Radisson area due to slushy, icy conditions. There also was swirling snow that could affect visibility.
Driving conditions could deteriorate as the day progresses based on Environment Canada’s forecast.
In the Regina area, the forecast calls for rain showers or flurries tonight with winds gusting up to 60 kilometres per hour. That could affect visibility on the highways in the southern regions of the province.
The same thing could occur in the Saskatoon area, where rain showers and flurries are in the forecast for this evening. Winds are to gust up to 60 km/h tonight before increasing to 80 km/h after midnight.
