The Saskatchewan government is extending a helping hand to some businesses for a while longer.
The government announced Thursday it’s extending the deadline for the Re-Open Saskatchewan Training Subsidy another three months.
The subsidy was established in June last year to help businesses pay for the training their employees might need to work safely during the pandemic and to follow appropriate COVID-19 rules.
“This program has been another important tool to support Saskatchewan businesses as they work through the global COVID-19 pandemic,” Immigration and Career Training Minister Jeremy Harrison said in a news release.
“With significant uptake to this point, we want to extend the deadline to give more businesses the opportunity to access this program as we continue with our economic recovery efforts.”
Businesses can get up to $10,000 from the subsidy.
The subsidy was supposed to end at the end of December, but the province has extended the deadline for applications to the end of March.
The government said more than 600 applications have already been approved, with $2.5 million already committed.
