Bring some Christmas cheer to a family this year.
That’s the theme of 650 CKOM’s Adopt-A-Family. With the help of the Salvation Army, our team matches businesses, groups, families and people together with a less-fortunate family in Saskatoon who may be experiencing tough times and need a helping hand.
Salvation Army executive director Judy Regamey says in the midst of the pandemic, the need has never been greater.
“Right now we’ve already surpassed the number of households we helped last year,” said Regamey.
So far in 2020, 117 families have signed up to receive some Christmas cheer, according to Regamey.
“Last year we did 250, so we’re already at the halfway mark,” she said.
But Regamey says no matter how great the need is this year, organizers will be certain no family is left disappointed.
“We will absolutely meet the demand and the citizens of Saskatoon are so generous and when a cry for help goes out, they always respond,” she said.
