The unattended burning of incense is responsible for an apartment fire in Saskatoon on Monday.
The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call over the lunch hour of smoke coming from a building on the 1000 block of Matheson Drive.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a ground level window. Crews entered the building and extinguished the blaze.
While in the suite, firefighters discovered and rescued a cat. The cat suffered no ill effects from the fire.
Damage is estimated to be $100,000.
