Saskatoon police say a fatal semi-truck collision on Circle Drive on Oct. 21 was caused by distracted driving.
In a release, police say an investigation by the Traffic Section included an analysis of activity on a cellphone found inside the super-bee semi driven by the deceased 51-year-old man.
The analysis found evidence of cellphone use at the time of the collision.
Police say the man’s family has been informed of the findings.
The collision involved three super-bee semis.
The 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. One other driver wasn’t injured and the third driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
In the release, the Saskatoon Police Service asked all drivers to “put their cellphones away while driving and help ensure the safety of all those using the road.”
