A 44-year-old woman is facing several charges after refusing to stop for police early Monday morning.
In a release, police say at around 3:40 a.m., a canine officer attempted to stop a suspected stolen van in the area of 19th Street West and Avenue P South.
The driver of the van refused to stop, taking off at high rates of speed.
Stop sticks were successfully used and the vehicle stopped in the 500 block of Avenue U South.
A woman left the vehicle and was taken into custody. A 10-year-old girl who was a passenger in the van was unharmed.
The woman is charged with dangerous driving, evade police, impaired driving and refusal.
