A drinking water advisory is in effect at Royal University Hospital, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and the Saskatoon Cancer Center.
A news release from the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) said a water line break on Thursday morning caused the water advisory.
No potable water was available to patients or staff as of 4 p.m. Thursday. Bottled water is being provided, and all patients and designated support people are advised to bring their own bottled water if they’re going to any of the three affected facilities.
The news release advised patients that refillable water bottles should not be brought to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Some surgical services were delayed but none were postponed. Some laboratory services may be delayed, but the health authority said there is no impact to COVID-19 testing.
The Saskatoon Cancer Centre was temporarily closed Thursday morning; all patient appointments are being rescheduled. The Dubé Centre for Mental Health was not affected.
