Regina’s Kitchener Community School has been closed for the week after four students tested positive for COVID-19.
In a release on its website, the school said it was told of the cases Friday by the Saskatchewan Health Authority. After consulting with public health officials, school officials opted to close the facility for the week.
In-person classes are to resume next Monday.
“Staff will continue to work and will co-ordinate remote learning for students starting (Tuesday),” the release said. “Families will be contacted directly (Monday) regarding the closure and remote learning for the week.”
The release noted the SHA will contact any school families or staff members who may have been in close contact with the students who tested positive. Anyone who shows symptoms is urged to stay home and call HealthLine 811 to set up a test.
