Both Sask. Party Leader Scott Moe and NDP Leader Ryan Meili are busy on the campaign trail Sunday before Saskatchewan hits the polls Monday.
Moe started Sunday off in Prince Albert, asking voters to elect candidates Alana Ross and Joe Hargrave. Ross was not in attendance, as she is self-isolating after one of her contacts tested positive for COVID-19.
“Both Alana and Joe have run great campaigns. They have been listening to the concerns and priorities of Prince Albert voters and I know they will be strong representatives for this city if they are elected tomorrow,” Moe stated in a Sunday press release.
Following the stop in the gateway to the north, Moe travelled west to North Battleford to show his support for candidate Jeremy Cockrill.
Cockrill is looking to keep the seat for the Sask. Party, where Herb Cox is retiring after holding the constituency since 2011.
“I hope everyone who hasn’t done so already takes the time to go vote tomorrow and here in The Battlefords, I’m asking you to vote for Jeremy Cockrill and a strong Saskatchewan,” Moe said.
Meili is also making up some ground on the campaign trail Sunday. He began the morning in the Saskatoon Churchill-Wildwood riding before other “whistle-stop visits” to Saskatoon University, Saskatoon Eastview, Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland, Saskatoon Westview, Saskatoon Riversdale, Saskatoon Fairview and Batoche.
Meili will also visit Prince Albert Carlton and Northcote campaigns at an event in Prince Albert in the mid-afternoon.
“It’s been an exciting campaign, and I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised by what we learn tomorrow,” he said during his morning stop in Saskatoon.
“I think the choice is so clear. It’s so clearly a choice between cuts and investment. Between Scott Moe’s plan for austerity, that will slow down the economy and hurt people, and our plan to help people out, get our economy moving.”
Voters will be able to hit the polls Monday, beginning at 9 a.m., until 8 p.m. For more on where to vote, head to the Elections Saskatchewan website.
