The Atlanta Falcons are a laughing stock.
There is no better way to describe it. Everyone is laughing at the Falcons, except of course Falcons fans.
The joke around the Falcons was always 28-3 – the infamous lead they had in the third quarter of the Super Bowl only to blow it.
Now, the curse of giving up big leads continues. Last week, it was a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter. This week, they held a 16-point lead in the final frame.
It’s not easy for a team to land in the laughing stock category, especially one as talented as the Falcons. They have one of the top quarterbacks and one of the best receiving corps in the game.
But here they are with the Cleveland Browns, as the punchline to football fans’ jokes.
So if you hear someone this say this week, “It could be worse, you could be a Falcons fan,” then laugh. It’s funny unless you’re a Falcons fan. In that case, it doesn’t get any worse right now.
