Saskatchewan reported 21 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, topping Friday’s total of 13.
There are now 83 active cases confirmed in the province after four new recoveries were announced.
Out of the new cases, there are five in the Saskatoon region, 14 in the central-east and two in the south-west zones.
Two people are in hospital receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon.
15 of the 21 new cases reported on Saturday are believed to be from communal living settings. Out of the active cases, 33 of them are believed to be from communal living areas like Hutterite colonies.
1,544 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan on Friday.
Drive-through testing available
Drive-through testing sites that do not require a referral are operating in Regina and Saskatoon. This is in addition to the testing and assessment centres currently open.
Regina’s drive through testing centre at the International Trade Centre at Evraz Place, Hall C, 1700 Elphinstone Street, is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saskatoon’s centre is located at 3630 Thatcher Avenue. It is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A valid Saskatchewan Health Card is required for each person getting tested. A Canadian Armed Forces number or Interim Federal Health identification is also accepted.
There are no public washrooms available at these sites.
