Two men are recovering from stab wounds after an incident early Saturday morning in the Nutana area.
Police say in a release that officers were called at about 2:20 a.m., to a report of two men suffering from injuries on a path near Victoria Avenue and Saskatchewan Crescent.
When officers arrived, they found a 39-year-old man suffering from a minor injury, and a 41-year-old man with more serious injuries.
Both were taken to hospital by Medavie Health Services.
The men said they had been walking in the area when they were approached by a man they didn’t know who was on a bicycle.
The man asked them for a cigarette, and when the victims refused, he pulled out a knife and assaulted them.
The suspect is described as being Indigenous, with short hair. He was wearing dark clothing and riding a light-coloured mountain bike.
