Five people are facing charges after using a firearm to steal a vehicle and flee from police on Sunday night.
At around 10:00 p.m., a group of males approached a person at a business located in a strip mall at 3000 Diefenbaker Drive.
One of the five men brandished a weapon to someone outside the businesses, demanding their keys in the process.
The five of them fled in a white Ford truck, driving it at a very high rate of speed down Highway 14. The Saskatoon police Air Support Unit tracked the vehicle, which allowed responding officers to use a tire deflation device.
As police approached, the vehicle again tried to flee but was unsuccessful. Four men were taken into custody from inside the vehicle, and a fifth was found to have fled from the vehicle but was apprehended by a patrol unit.
All five men, ages 19, 19, 20, 26 and 26, are each charged with robbery and using a firearm in commission of offence.
