The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating a fatal shooting early Friday morning in the Lakewood neighbourhood.
On Aug. 21, at around 3:00 a.m., police heard about an injured person outside a restaurant in the 200 block of Slimmon Road.
When first responders arrived, they found a 30-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was sent to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators have determined that morning, the establishment began preparing to close for the evening. As people began to leave the restaurant, a dispute between numerous patrons resulted in a fight where the 30-year-old man was fatally shot.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and speaking with anyone who was at Aria Food and Spirits on Thursday night and early Friday morning. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 and ask to speak with an investigator in Major Crimes or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
