There is a sad ending in the search for a boater who went missing on Bittern Lake on Saturday.
The RCMP issued a release saying the man’s body was recovered Thursday morning from the lake.
On Saturday, the RCMP said a boat carrying eight people was out on the lake when a woman was swept overboard when a wave crashed over the boat.
A 23-year-old man jumped into the water to try to help the woman. The woman resurfaced but the man didn’t.
The boat began taking on water and the remaining passengers were able to swim to shore safely.
Bittern Lake is located near the Montreal Lake Cree Nation in northern Saskatchewan.
