8:30 – Saskatchewan released its back-to-school plan Tuesday, and immediately faced a barrage of criticism from the NDP, Teachers’ Federation, and concerned parents. The plan seeks to make schooling as close to normal amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while taking steps to minimize large gatherings. Despite a number of protective measures, masks will not be mandatory and class sizes will not be changed. Education Minister Gordon Wyant joins Guest Host Mike Couros to tell us more about the plan.

9:00 – The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, the union representing more than 13,500 Saskatchewan PreK-12 teachers, called the government’s back-to-school plan “a squandered opportunity to bring some relief and confidence to teachers, school workers and parents.” President Patrick Maze says the plan raises more questions than it answers, and while everybody wants to get back into the classroom, safety is still their primary concern. Maze joins Mike to tell us more about the issues teachers are taking with the plan.
