Two 15-year-old boys facing charges after car stolen

Two 15-year-old boys are facing charges after a car was stolen from a home in the Willowgrove area Monday night.

Police say at about 9:50 p.m., they were called to a report of a vehicle being stolen.

When officers arrived, they learned two unknown males were seen driving away from a parking lot in the 1000 block of Patrick Crescent in a stolen Dodge Charger.

Further investigation revealed the keys to the Charger had been taken from inside a nearby home after a break-in.

As patrol officers and the Canine Unit conducted their investigation at the scene, the car was seen returning.

Once the occupants of the car saw the police, they tried to leave the scene before abandoning the Charger and fleeing into a canola field where the Air Support Unit was able to spot them from the air.

The two are facing charges of break and enter to a home and theft of a motor vehicle.
