The tournament has raised over $30,000 for various charities and other causes throughout Saskatoon.
An estimated 50,000 people took over Diefenbaker Park in Saskatoon Saturday for the annual Optimist Canada Day Celebration.
It all started with breakfast at 8 a.m. and continued all day with musical performances by Jess Moskaluke, The Tragically Hip tribute band The 100th Meridian and Platinum Blonde.
The main attraction – the fireworks.
Before the weekend, Event Chair Brad Sylvester promised the biggest display they had ever put on with 14 pallets of fireworks.
It didn’t disappoint with people telling 650 CKOM it was the best display they’d seen in the city.
Free parking offered at Prairieland Park filled the lot and caused a traffic jam after the show.
It took about an hour and a half to get everyone cleared out for the night.
