Woman faces impaired driving charges after incident in Westmont

An 18-year-old woman is facing impaired driving-related charges after an incident in the Westmont area Tuesday evening.

Police say at around 5:20 p.m., officers on patrol observed a grey Nissan Titan being driving erratically near Idylwyld Drive and 22nd Street.

The driver began to drive evasively and eventually turned down a back alley in the 300 block of Avenue D North where a traffic stop was conducted.

It was learned the vehicle had refused to stop for police earlier in the day. Once in the alley, the driver attempted to continue driving but was blocked in by police vehicles.

The woman driving the truck and two male passengers were arrested. The men were later released without charges, but the woman was believed to be under the influence of alcohol.

The 18-year-old woman is facing two impaired driving-related charges, as well as evading police.
