Heavy smoke and flames greeted Saskatoon Fire Department crews responding to a blaze in the Forest Grove neighbourhood Wednesday afternoon.
They arrived at a trailer home on Grant Street around 3:30 p.m. and immediately called for reinforcements.
Flames spread to a second trailer, forcing the evacuation of several neighbouring homes until the blaze was brought under control.
The fire was completely extinguished by 8:15 p.m. and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
M.D. Ambulance was called to the scene to assess two 50-year-old men. One was released right away, but the other was taken to Royal University Hospital in serious condition. A spokesperson for M.D. Ambulance said the man was suffering from second-degree burns.
A fire investigator was unable to find the cause of the blaze.
Damage to both trailers is estimated at $300,000.
