A 33-year-old man and 26-year-old woman are facing several charges after leading police on a high-speed chase early Saturday morning.
In a news release, police said a patrol officer noticed a suspicious vehicle near the 8th Street & Broadway Avenue area.
When attempting to pull the vehicle over, the driver refused to stop, according to police.
The Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit (ASU) was called in and followed the vehicle after the officer disengaged from the chase.
The occupants of the vehicle drove at high speeds through Saskatoon and north on Highway 11 towards the City of Warman, police said.
Members from the RCMP and Corman Park Police Service assisted with successfully deploying a tire deflation device at 3:52 a.m., roughly an hour after the initial incident.
The two occupants of the vehicle then attempted to flee on foot in a rural area just east of Warman.
The man driver was arrested immediately without incident while the female passenger attempted to hide. The woman was eventually taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the K-9 unit.
The man is charged with failure to stop for police, possession of a weapon (knife), possession of stolen property over $5000 and possession of identity belonging to four separate individuals.
The woman is charged with breach of undertaking.
Both will remain in custody until being seen by a Justice of the Peace later Saturday.
