Nearly $14 million in funding has been earmarked for another 139 projects under the province’s Municipal Economic Enhancement Program (MEEP).
On June 22, the provincial government announced the 55 projects it was funding in the first phase of the program. The second phase was revealed Wednesday.
“So far in June and July, a total of 194 municipal projects and initiatives have been approved for 109 communities,” Government Relations Minister Lori Carr said in a media release.
“The total investment so far of $21.37 million under the Municipal Economic Enhancement Program 2020 strengthens communities in two ways: Municipalities improve their local infrastructure and capital assets needed to provide services to residents as well as provide projects that can help get residents back to work.”
MEEP is to provide $150 million in funding as part of the government’s two-year, $7.5-billion capital plan.
The projects approved in the second phase range in cost from $899 (a golf course irrigation expansion for the resort village of Coteau Beach) to $2.25 million (Marquis Road West extension underground servicing for Prince Albert).
A complete list of the projects in the second phase appears below.
All MEEP 2020 funding must be used by March 31, 2022.
