Saskatchewan has surpassed the 800 mark of COVID-19 cases.
The provincial government announced nine new cases had been reported since Friday, including two on Saturday, four on Sunday and three on Monday. The total number of cases in Saskatchewan to date is now 805.
Three of the new cases are in the far north, two are in the Saskatoon area, two are in the south, one is in the north and one is in the central region.
There were 21 more recoveries since Friday, increasing that number so far to 732. To date, 14 residents of the province have died due to complications from COVID-19.
There now are 59 active cases in Saskatchewan, with 35 in the far north, 11 in the south, eight in the north, four in Saskatoon and one in the central region. Regina doesn’t have any active cases to report.
Four people are in hospital, including three — two in the north and one in Saskatoon — who are receiving inpatient care. One person is in intensive care in Saskatoon.
The total number of cases comprises 480 community contacts, 167 travellers, 113 who don’t have any known exposures, and 45 who are being investigated by local public health officials.
To date, 55 health-care workers have tested positive for the virus.
The cases to date include 338 from the far north, 189 in the Saskatoon area, 119 in the north, 80 from the Regina area, 66 in the south and 13 from the central region.
There have been 282 cases in the 20-to-39 age range, 253 between the ages of 40 and 59, 133 in the 60-to-79 range, 116 involving people aged 19 and under, and 21 in the 80-and-over range.
There were 674 tests reported Saturday, 718 announced Sunday and 707 reported Monday. The total number of tests done so far in Saskatchewan is 69,890.
