8:30 – Provincial Auditor Judy Ferguson released the first volume of her 2020 report Tuesday. Ferguson’s audits found privacy issues with eHealth’s IT network, identified issues with the way our new Highway Patrol procures firearms, and raised the alarm about the need for ongoing assessment of foster parents. Ferguson joins Gormley to discuss some of the areas of the provincial government she put under the microscope and what she’s recommending to address the issues.

12:00 – Brian Martin is executive director of Mont St. Joseph Home, a 120 bed special care home located in the City of Prince Albert, and he joins Gormley to discuss their issues with funding. According to Martin, the COVID-19 pandemic is shining a light on the challenges present inside long-term care homes, and he’d like to see predictable, stable funding put in place to allow operators to improve the services they can deliver. But Martin says we first need to acknowledge that care homes are more than just places where seniors go to die.
