A man and a teen are facing charges after one of them pointed a gun at a police officer in the Queen Elizabeth area early Wednesday morning.
At about 6:40 a.m. patrol officers responded to a report of a group arguing outside of a home in the 400 block of Hilliard Street, when a firearm was observed.
When police arrived, several people were seen running away.
During a short foot pursuit, one of the males pointed a gun at the police officer. The officer was able to take cover for safety and eventually was successful in detaining the three individuals.
Additional officers arrived to assist in taking them into custody.
A sawed-off rifle, ammunition and bear spray were seized.
A 15-year-old boy is facing 16 charges, the majority related to possession of the firearm and ammunition.
A 24-year-old man is facing two charges relating to possession of bear spray.
A third person was released without charges.
