Police are asking for the public’s help after a man was injured early Tuesday morning in North Battleford allegedly from a discharged firearm.
Police report Battlefords RCMP were called to a home at about 2:30 a.m. on the 1200 block of 108 Street for a complaint of shots fired.
When RCMP arrived at the location they found a man who had been shot and sustained non-life threatening injuries. The individual was transported to hospital for treatment. Police determined the shot came from outside the home and struck the man while he was standing in a room inside. RCMP don’t believe it was a random attack. Police continue to investigate.
Then, at about 3:30 a.m., police report, a shot was fired at a separate home on the 1700 block of Trudeau Street in North Battleford. RCMP were not informed of this incident until later in the morning when the owner awoke and noticed bullet holes at the residence. Police report no one was injured in the incident. RCMP believe the home was wrongly targeted. Any residents in the area with video footage who haven’t already been contacted by investigators are asked to call the Battlefords RCMP.
Police say no one has been arrested related to any of the above incidents. Any one with information is asked to contact the Battlefords RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
