A 47-year-old man is to appear in court Tuesday after threatening to stab customers and employees at a Saskatoon Giant Tiger.
Police say the suspect entered the 22nd Street and Avenue F store with two large knives just before 5 p.m. on Monday.
Police responded with the tactical support unit and a crisis negotiator after the man barricaded himself inside and threatened to harm himself.
The standoff with officers lasted several hours before the suspect was shot with a taser and arrested around 9:30 p.m.
Nobody inside the store was injured.
The man has been charged with possession of a weapon, uttering threats, mischief over $5,000 and theft under $5,000.
