On Monday, April 6, a Sobey’s employee in Saskatoon tested positive for COVID-19.
According to information on sobeys.com, the employee last worked at the Sobeys Liquor located in Lawson Heights on March 27.
Sobeys says they will continue to track and document coronavirus cases in their stores to be transparent with their customers.
“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety. Where required, we will communicate with customers who have shopped in the impacted location, with store signage, outlining our steps to manage the situation,” according to their website.
“Out of an abundance of caution, with each case that is reported, we will deep clean and sanitize the store location. Out of respect for our teammates and their confidentiality, we will never release any personal information about our people.”
To date, 39 Sobeys employees across the country have tested positive for the virus. One in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland, two in B.C., three in Alberta, six in Ontario and 26 in Quebec.
