'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
The Saskatoon Blades are sending players home amid the uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19.
A team release on Sunday said a decision was reached to send players home to their families immediately.
“As an organization who considers its players family, we believe these are appropriate measures to take based on recent international travel restraints due to the virus,” the release said.
The team will continue to stay in contact with health authorities and league officials to monitor the situation.
“Our players will return to Saskatoon at a date yet to be determined,” the release added.
Season ticket holders and fans will be provided more information soon.
