Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Saskatoon, with amounts between 10 and 20 centimetres expected.
A system spreading snow across southern Alberta this evening will move into Saskatchewan tomorrow morning.
Terri Lang with Environment Canada says this storm will be worse than the one last weekend.
“This system has more juice to it, meaning we will probably see some heavier snowfalls. It also has some stronger winds,” said Lang.
The system is expected to move slowly through the area all day Saturday, and then move into Manitoba Sunday.
The accompanying cold front will move through southern portions of the province on Saturday night bringing flurries with a risk of freezing rain.
Lang says it likely won’t be a great couple of days on the roads.
“Probably some blowing and drifting snow, so I think weekend travel is going to be quite an issue across central and southern Saskatchewan.”
Moderate to strong northeasterly winds will accompany the snow on Saturday, causing visibility to be reduced in blowing snow.
