A 30-year-old man is facing charges related to a forcible confinement Wednesday afternoon.
At around 3 p.m., police received a call that a man was being held against his will at a house in the 3300 block of 33rd Street West.
The Saskatoon Police Service’s guns and gangs unit responded and, with help from the tactical support unit, entered the home.
There were several people inside who police detained as part of their investigation.
During that time, the victim escaped through a window where police were able to take him to safety. The 24-year-old was not injured.
A search warrant was executed and police seized a taser.
The 30-year-old man is facing charges of forcible confinement, robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine, breach of an undertaking and breach of probation.
Police do not believe this was a random incident.
