A Saskatoon teacher facing child pornography charges is now suspended without pay while his case makes its way through the courts.
Rhett Lundgren, 39, was arrested just over a week ago charged with two counts of arranging to commit a sexual offence against a child and one count of attempting to access child pornography.
The charges stem from an investigation started on Nov. 29 by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Lundgren has been employed with the school division since 2010, and was teaching at Walter Murray Collegiate when the charges were laid.
On Monday a spokesperson for Saskatoon Public Schools said Lundgren had been suspended without pay until both his criminal matters and a separate investigation by the school board are concluded. Originally he was to remain at home with pay until both were resolved
Parents of children attending Walter Murray have been sent letters explaining the situation and outlining who they can contact if they have concerns.
Lundgren is scheduled to appear again Tuesday in Saskatoon provincial court.
