Even after being down 5-1, the Saskatchewan Rush found a way to pull out a 9-6 win over the Calgary Roughnecks in National Lacrosse League (NLL) preseason action on Friday night.
“We didn’t finish our chances early on, but had some good looks,” said Rush head coach Derek Keenan.
“We got better as the game went on and made some things happen.”
Rush nation came out in droves as 12,379 fans showed up to SaskTel Centre.
“I love Saskatoon and the fans are amazing in this building,” Rush Goaltender Aaron Bold said.
Things got heated towards the dying seconds of the game as a line brawl broke out.
Then Goalies Bold and Roughnecks Frankie Scigliano squared off at center field.

“First fight in the NLL, but I don’t condone it,” Bold said.
“When the teammates need help, I’ll definitely stand up for them.”
Scigliano landed a big punch in the video, but that’s a fact Bold disputes.
“I actually tripped which made it look worse than it actually was in my opinion,” he said.
Robert Church had the hat trick for the Rush and newly acquired Adam Jones had two goals.
